From the North to the South

Day 1

Pickup from Tirana rinas international airport and transfer to Shkoder.
Traditional dinner in selected restaurant in Shkoder.
Accommodation in Hotel

Day 2

We wake up early in the morning, the hotel will provide us a breakfast takeaway and we will make our way to the meeting point at the office.
Once in Koman, time to take a quick coffee with the guide leader, will get in a little
boat and navigate through Komani Lake, to get to Shala river ( 75min).
There you will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the nature and those
rocky mountains,zip-line and swim in the crystal water, kayaking ( 10€/p.p, zipline
10€/p.p, kayak, expenses not included).A really nice lunch in Shala. On the
afternoon, around 3pm, the boat will drop you to Fierze and a private car/minibus
will be waiting for us.

We will drive through the Valbona Valley, the central area of the Tropoja region.
Will stop to take pics on the most beautiful views that offers Valbona river, Old mill.
Will arrive at the guesthouse, after the relax in the patio, will settle down to our
rooms. We will have dinner all together, tasting the most delicious dishes of the
region, bio fresh homemade food. After dinner we like present our traditional music,culture and our folk dances.

Day 3 – Hiking from Valbona to Theth
Ready for the Hiking

Will have traditional breakfast and prepare a picnic for the hike, let’s go !!!
A private jeep or minibus (depending of the group size), will drop us to the starting
point of the hike. During our hike, will find two spots to rest and have drinks, will enjoy and take lots of pics as you will be amazed by the views that the Dinaric Alps offers, our guide
it’s enjoy to explain you the beautiful area, fauna and history. In the afternoon will be in Theth where a private jeep or minibus (depending of the group size), will be waiting for us at the finish point of the hike and drive us to Nderlysaj, will enjoy the view of Thethi National Park. Will explore the amazing Thethi area, Blue eye, Grunas Canyon and Nderlysaj bathtubes. Will come back to Nderlysaj, where our jeep or minibus will be waiting for us to drive us to the guesthouse. We will settle down to our rooms and come all together to have dinner, tasty fresh traditional dishes.

Day 4 – Theth – Shkoder – Ksamil
Breakfast at the guesthouse. It’s cultural time with our guide !!!!
Right after we leave to visit the Isolation Tower and learn about the Kanun of Lek
Dukagjini (the first written constitution, used in the whole northern
region,1,5euro/person.) Last energy, last hike, we go to visit the amazing Grunas Waterfall.
Will come back at the guesthouse, the last pics and our minibus will be waiting for
us to drive us back to Shkoder. We are in Shkoder around 14.00 pm. A long journey through the heart of Albania, where we will have the chance to see one of the most important rivers in our country – the Vjosa River – which is also part of UNESCO thanks to its wild fauna and the stunning beauty that surrounds it. We’ll make a short stop in the small town of Tepelena before continuing towards Saranda-ksamil, passing through part of the city of Gjirokastra, also known as “the city of stone roofs,” since the roofs of all the old houses are made of stone to withstand the cold and snowy winters.

We’ll arrive in Ksamil in the evening, where we’ll settle into our pre-booked hotel
and spend the next three consecutive nights, we have a dinner and if you aren’t
tired we start for discover the Ksamil Movida.

Day 5 Ksamil– Gjirokastra – Blue Eye – Ksamil (Free time at the beach):
After breakfast around 8:00 a.m., we’ll get ready for another wonderful day,
starting with a visit to the city of Gjirokastra (the Castle and the Old Bazaar).
Afterwards, we’ll head towards the Blue Eye in the South — a very important site
for our ecosystem, as the wildlife found in these waters cannot be found anywhere
else. Thanks to many years of effort, tourists are no longer allowed to enter the
waters near the source, but only at a safe distance, to protect this natural wonder,
since the water emerges from deep underground.

After visiting the Blue Eye, we’ll continue to the wonderful Winery 🍷, where we’ll
have time to relax and enjoy a tasting of different wines, raki, cheeses, and other
local delicacies. Finally, we’ll return to Ksamil, where you’ll have free time to enjoy
the beach. Dinner, free time and Ksamil night

Day 6 Ksamil – Butrint – Ksamil – Relax at the Beach 
Taking everything calmly, after breakfast we’ll get ready for another beautiful and
long day among important historical sites and breathtaking landscapes. We should
keep in mind that, due to tourism, we might encounter some traffic, especially on
the way to the archaeological site of Butrint, which is part of the UNESCO World
Heritage for its historical importance over the centuries. Butrint is one of the most
significant archaeological sites in our country, dating back to the time of the
Illyrians, thousands of years ago, and later founded by the Romans as a trading
center between Corfu and the Greco-Roman world. We have a nice stop to have a
picnic and after we visit Butrint, we’ll back to Ksamil, where the crystal-clear,
magnificent waters waiting us. One of the most beautiful beaches to visit is the
Dove Beach, followed by some relaxing time on the beach and swimming in the
sea. Dinner and enjoy time for our last night in the magnificent atmosphere.

Day 7 Ksamil – Llogara Pass – Vlora – Divjaka – Tirana
The last day in the South! After breakfast, it’s important that by around 9:00 a.m.
everyone is ready to leave, as there might be quite a bit of traffic and many
beautiful things to see and do along the way.
Our first stop will be at the Llogara Pass, offering a breathtaking 360° view over the
endless Ionian Sea. After that, we’ll continue toward Porto Palermo, where we’ll
stop for a short historical visit about Ali Pasha Tepelena, an Albanian Pasha from
the Ottoman era who built his fortune through many battles—an important figure
both in his time and even today. We’ll then head toward Central Albania, driving for
about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic along the route. Finally, we’ll arrive at
one of the places dearest to my heart: Divjaka-Karavasta. This beautiful lagoon is
home to many species of animals, including the Dalmatian pelican, one of the most
important.There we meet Altin, who has been dedicated for over 20 years to
keeping the area clean and protecting it from harmful government projects. We’ll
visit his small but wonderful museum, featuring various marine species, butterflies,
and other fascinating examples of biodiversity that will surely enchant you. We’ll
then enjoy a delicious lunch, followed by the final drive to the capital, Tirana. Upon
arrival, we’ll check into the hotel for some relaxation before heading out again for
dinner, music, and an evening full of fun in the lively capital city.

Day 8 – Tirana – Airport
At the end of this long and wonderful tour, after the breakfast we will get we will
get ready to head towards Mother Teresa Airport.
